Spring Flood 2011 at Jungle Lane

On my way home from MA earlier today, I knew when I got to Rte. 197 and the water was lapping on the edges of the road that we would have highwater at home after last night's rain. When I got home one of the first things I did was take some photos.
water pouring over the top of the dam
and through the chutes

What is usually a small pool has overflowed its banks.

You can see where there is a second stream
in the upper right where water has washed over the lawn at the end of the dam.

looking down the brook from the bridge

There's so much water in the pond
that you can't really see the top
of the dam at all.

Water is very close to the floor of the bridge.  It wouldn't
surprise me if it was underwater during the night.

April 5th

Wish I could remember where I got this from online.  Reminds me of spring lambs, green grass and leaves on the trees.  All the rain of the last couple of days has taken lots of the snow away.  I can't wait for sunshine and warmer weather and SPRING!

Blog Blitz at Outside the Box Blog all week!

As a member of the Memory Box Design Team, I want all of you who follow the Your Maine Stamper blog to see what's happening on the Outside the Box Blog this week.

Welcome to a very special week on the Outside the Box blog!  We are participating in a blog hop with Creative Imaginations and will be featuring all kinds of great ideas for using Memory Box products with Twinkling H2O paints.  For those of you who aren't familiar with Twinkling H2O's, they are fantastic metallic watercolor paints that can be used directly on rubber stamps as well used for coloring in your stamped images.  Every day this week, there will be three posts on the Outside the Box blog as well as 2 posts a over on the Creative Imaginations blog site.  Be sure to "hop" on over there frequently!
Now, how about a chance to win some goodies?  Each day this week, you will have a chance on the Outside the Box blog to win one of the Luminate Petite Twinkling H2O kits.  Today's prize is the Basic Rainbow kit.  For a chance to win, all you have to do is leave a comment on the Memory Box design team posts.  Suzz, Anne, and Angela are posting samples on the Outside the Box blog today (Monday, April 4th).  Leave a comment on each of their posts, and you will have a total of three entries.  A winner will be selected tonight at 11:59pm EST, so you need to move quick!
Want to win more prizes?  There will be contests over at theCreative Imaginations blog as well, so make sure you go there for your chance at more goodies.
We look forward to seeing you this week and hope you are inspired!
