sometime next week:  CAT scan, bone scan
July   3:   double mastectomy scheduled, Mercy Hospital Fore River

still waiting for the results of the chemical stains tests (due Monday) to find out if this is the same kind of breast cancer I had before or a new one

will need to wait for scan results and testing on the removed tissue before knowing what other treatments I will have, if any; I should have all of the necessary info when I have my follow-up meetings with both my breast surgeon and my oncologist on July 10th

June 3, 2012 FLOOD

April Collage Challenge from Green Paper

These were the images provided by Mary Green at Green Paper for this month's Collage Challenge. We were asked to use all or parts of the three images to create a collage to post on our blogs and on hers.

My Victorian Glue Book in an Accordion Blank Book March 2012

I created this glue book using images from Mary Green at Green Paper.  I signed up for her online class but have pretty much done my own thing with the images to begin.  She has lots of good ideas for collage and this will be a fun class to work through.  I think I may still go back into this book and add some distress inks to the torn edges of some of the images and may add some rubber stamped images, too.  Ribbon?  More pearls?  Gold Dresden embossed pieces?  Hmmm...

SPRING HAS SPRUNG!!!

What incredible weather we are having!!!  Don't let that keep you from visiting YOUR MAINE STAMPER to stock up on what you need for spring and Easter cards!  Lots of new products in!  Paper...Paper...Paper.  Inks in luscious colors.  Butterflies.  Rabbits, chicks, ducks.  Flowers.  And DIES--lots of new ones from Memory Box and I'm unpacking the ones from Cheery Lynn on Tuesday morning!

We had quite a discussion during my Monday afternoon class about how to eat Peeps.  Linda made us a Peeps Sunflower Cake and that started it!  How do you like your Peeps?  Fresh? Frozen? Left out in the air to harden a bit so they're crunchy? Do you bite the heads off first?  It's definitely Peeps season!

Mom's Drawing

This is a drawing my mother did this week using a pen and colored pencils on pink paper.  She saw the design on the front of a card from her Secret Pal and made her rendition of it to give back to her Secret Pal. This is soooo cooool because my mother has only the use of her left hand and this is the most detailed drawing she has made since her stroke 12 years ago.  I just LOVE this and had to make a copy before passing it on to its intended recipient.  And I really wanted to share this with the readers of my blog, too!

Green Paper Challenge March 8th

This is my entry in the Green Paper Challenge for March 2012.

The task was to use three different images provided by Mary Green at Green Paper to create a collage piece.  This is what I had to work with:

I created this vignette on the front of a greeting card using the woman's hand, two snippets from the attendance record form, and bits cut from The Three Little Kittens piece.  The clothesline stamp is from Stampin' Up.  I used twine for the clothesline and miniature clothespins to attach the mittens which are from one of Courtney's stamps at Your Maine Stamper.

This was a fun challenge.  Mary Green offers one at the beginning of each month.  I've already printed out the materials to use for January and February and will complete those, even though the deadline for posting and linking has passed.  I think this will make an interesting little Books of Months for 2012.
